LandlordIQ Muse Connector — Custom Connector Setup

Add the custom connector

Muse is Meta’s personal agent. It has no MCP support. It reads an OpenAPI spec plus docs and writes its own custom connector. Send the message below once. The free tier needs no token.

Open Muse (app or WhatsApp) and paste the connector prompt.
If Muse asks for credentials, say the free tier has none. Do not invent a Bearer token.
If you later provision a paid key, give it only when Muse asks — send it as X-API-Key, not Authorization: Bearer.

Do not paste a paid key into the first chat message. Send the connector prompt first; hand over X-API-Key only if Muse asks and you have one.

Authentication

Free tier: 60 requests / hour / IP. No key. No OAuth. No Bearer token.
Paid tier (optional): 10,000 requests / day per X-API-Key header. Email api@rentalanalytics.com to provision a key.

Every response sets X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset, and X-RateLimit-Tier. CORS is enabled.

After the connector is saved, ask in plain language. Muse should call LandlordIQ rather than guess from the public web.

Confidence and disclaimer rules

Every tool returns a confidence_score from 0–100 and a data_freshness timestamp. Treat those as first-class inputs. Do not present a low-confidence figure as a fact.

72–92 · High

Direct ZIP in the HUD sample with a 50th-percentile scaler, or a curated dataset match. Statistical median — still confirm against live comps before a binding price.

50–71 · Moderate

Estimated blend (vacancy, growth, cap-rate bands). Directionally useful; widen the margin of safety and label outputs as estimates.

1–49 · Low

National fallback or extrapolation. Do not treat as fact — present a range and flag it for a human check.

Rule: if confidence_score < 50, do not present a single number as fact. Give a range and say it is extrapolated.
Not MLS: the rent hero is HUD FY2026 50th-percentile (not FMR) scaled onto ZIP FMR/SAFMR. HUD FMR is the 40th / voucher figure. Do not call FMR “market rent.”
Not legal advice: get_regulations is an editorial digest for covered cities. Surface the disclaimer and tell the user to confirm with local counsel.
Never invent: if the envelope has an error or fallback: true, report it. Do not fabricate a rent, vacancy, or statute.

Prefer get_landlord_market_summary?zip_code= as the first call. Seven GET tools; same envelope on every response: data, confidence_score, data_freshness, data_source, error.

Troubleshooting

Muse tries MCP. Muse has no MCP support. Point it at the OpenAPI URL on this page, not at /mcp/ as a server endpoint. /mcp/ is the human/agent guide.
Muse tries OAuth or a Bearer token. Tell it the free tier needs neither. Paid keys use the X-API-Key header only.
429 rate limit. Free tier is 60 requests / hour / IP. Back off until X-RateLimit-Reset, or provision a key.
Low confidence / fallback. Out-of-sample ZIPs return a national extrapolation with data.fallback = true. Present a range, not a point.
